— The Official Link Goes Elsewhere

Desk research, checked 24 August 2026: built from the raw HTML source of eleven domains trading under this brand name, the images in their footers, public WHOIS records, the licensor’s own website, and twenty-five consecutive resolutions of a Gardenia888 sign-up link. We did not register an account, deposit, or request a withdrawal, so nothing below is a first-hand test result.

Search “Gardenia888” from Malaysia and you do not find one website. You find a cluster. We checked eleven domains carrying the name on 24 August 2026 and found two distinct live properties among them — run by what look like two different operations, on different registrars, different CDNs and different templates.

One of the two is a casino lobby. The other is a WordPress page that describes itself in its own header ticker as the “Official link” for the brand. We pressed that page’s buttons twenty-five times. Not one of them reached Gardenia888.

Verdict: 2/10. Watchlist, not blacklist. We found no verified case of Gardenia888 refusing to pay a specific named player, and we allege none. What we found instead is that the brand’s search footprint is not under the brand’s control: the most prominent page bearing the name sells its sign-ups to three rival casinos, carries the seal of a licensor that shut down in 2024, and shares a Cloudflare account with a doorway network we mapped three days ago. Meanwhile the actual lobby names no regulator and publishes no licence number at all.

We resolved its sign-up link twenty-five times. None reached Gardenia888.

Every call to action on betgardenia888.com — and there are thirty-seven of them, counting banners, buttons and footer logos — points at one third-party address: clickylinks.net/recdX59YERuJDXvMr. That is not a casino lobby. It is a redirect, and it does not resolve to the same place twice.

We resolved it twenty-five consecutive times on 24 August 2026. Each one passed through a second shortener, shortslink.org, and landed on a live registration form. Here is where they landed:

Readers of our MyTown33 review will recognise those three names, because they are exactly the three that brand’s Register button rotated between when we ran the same test three days earlier. Same shortener service, same trio of destinations, a different tracking slug. The two pages are running the same funnel with separate affiliate accounting.

This matters more than any bonus percentage on the page. If you search the brand, land on the page that calls itself the official link, and press the button it puts in front of you, the account you open is at a different casino from the one you went looking for — and which one depends on the second you click. Nothing on the page says so.

Eleven domains, two live sites

A search for the brand turns up eleven domains, and it is tempting to report that as eleven live sites. Opening each one is what kills the number. This is what the estate actually returned on 24 August 2026:

So: two live properties, three mirrors of one of them, four broken, one gateway and one parked. We checked gardenia888.com.my against four independent public resolvers — Cloudflare, Google, Quad9 and OpenDNS — and all four returned NXDOMAIN with no nameserver record. That is not a site being blocked or refusing our request. The domain is simply gone, and it is the one the brand’s older marketing treated as its home address.

The public registration records separate the two live properties cleanly, and they are worth reading closely. betgardenia888.com, mygardenia888.com and gardenia8888.com were all created on 2 December 2025 at 01:17:14, 01:17:18 and 01:17:19 UTC — three domains, five seconds, one NameCheap account, the same pair of Cloudflare nameservers. That is a single bulk purchase, not three brands converging. The lobby domains are somebody else’s: gardenia888f.com was registered through GoDaddy in December 2023 and gardenia888i.com in May 2024, on different nameservers again. Every one of them hides its registrant behind a privacy service, so no company name and no natural person is identifiable from public records for any of the eleven.

The seal in the footer belongs to a licensor that closed in 2024

Under a Bahasa Malaysia heading reading LESEN PERMAINAN — “gaming licence” — betgardenia888.com places a single image. Not a number. Not a link. We downloaded it. It is the Gaming Curaçao logo.

Gaming Curaçao was a master-licence holder that issued sub-licences to online casinos under Curaçao master licence 365/JAZ. We re-checked its website on 24 August 2026. The whole page still reads:

GAMING CURACAO HAS CEASED OPERATIONS ON AUGUST 18TH 2024. ON THIS DATE ALL ACTIVE SUB-LICENSES ISSUED BY GAMING CURACAO UNDER GAMING SERVICES PROVIDER N.V. 365/JAZ WILL EXPIRE AND ALL SEALS RENDERED INACTIVE. ANY ATTEMPT TO DISPLAY ACTIVE SEALS OR CONVEY AN EXTENSION OF EITHER THE SUB-LICENSE OR MASTER LICENSE WILL BE CONSIDERED FRAUDULENT AND ILLEGAL.

That is the licensor’s own published position, in its own words, and it has been sitting there for two years. The domain carrying its seal under a “lesen” heading was registered in December 2025 — fifteen months after the notice went up.

We make no allegation about who placed the image or why. Three facts are verifiable and a reader can weigh them without our help: the licensor closed in August 2024; it says displaying its seals afterwards is fraudulent and illegal; the seal is on the page today, over the word “lesen”.

Worth the contrast: SpinCity99 at least publishes a claim you can test — it names a company and the master licence number #1168/JAZ, and looking that number up is what proves the licence is dead. A picture of a logo with no number gives a reader nothing to check, and therefore nothing to catch.

It is the fifteenth site on a Cloudflare account we already mapped

Three days ago we published an investigation into fourteen Malaysian casino sites run out of one back office. The thing that tied them together was mundane and unfalsifiable: Cloudflare Images writes the account identifier into the delivery URL of every image it serves, so it sits in the page source of anything that account publishes. That hash was P9OFiVM18PAr1SvRwzgU7w.

Every one of the forty-one images on betgardenia888.com is served from that same account.

It goes further than the account. We compared the image IDs on betgardenia888.com against those on mytown33login.com, one of the fourteen. Twelve are the identical file — not the same picture re-uploaded, the same image ID served to both. The dead Gaming Curaçao seal is one of the twelve; its ID is 1724bcaa-26e8-4cf2-f68f-c4a78c05e700, the same file already documented on seven of the fourteen.

That makes Gardenia888 the fifteenth site we have found on that account and the eighth carrying that particular dead seal. The page also links out to mibox8888.com, which is row twelve of the fourteen, and to crown9999.net, which that investigation named as a domain the network links to from separate infrastructure. The JQK review is where the account first surfaced.

We keep the same wording rule we set there, and it matters: a shared Cloudflare Images account evidences shared infrastructure — one back office publishing many brand-named sites. It does not evidence common legal ownership, and we do not claim it does.

The lobby names no regulator at all

The other live property, gardenia888f.com and its identical twin gardenia888i.com, is a real casino lobby: registration and login forms, its own API host, a rewards subdomain, social channels. It titles itself “Gardenia888 | Official Online Casino Malaysia 2026 April Link”.

We pulled its full source — just over a megabyte — and searched it for every licensing term we check: licen, pagcor, curacao, cga, gcb, anjouan, N.V., JAZ, ALSI. The lobby names no regulator and publishes no licence number. Where a licence block would go, it prints its own logo and one sentence: “GARDENIA888 is part of a verified partnership network.” A verified partnership network is not a thing a regulator issues.

Immediately beside it sits a row headed CERTIFICATE & SECURITY with five badge images. We downloaded all five. They are BMM Testlabs, iTech Labs, a GoDaddy “Verified & Secured” sticker, iovation and ThreatMetrix. BMM and iTech Labs are game-testing houses; the other three are an SSL vendor and two fraud-screening products. None of them is a gambling regulator, and none of the five is a link — there is nothing to click through to a certificate. Whatever those logos are doing, they are not evidence of a licence.

One thing the source does contain is a translation dictionary shared with other brands. It holds ready-made licence sentences for LuckyBetAsia (Anjouan, licence ALSI-202410012-FI1, MockingBird Technologies Pte. Ltd.) and 4D GANG (Curaçao, Gaming Services Provider N.V. #1168/JAZ, Moon Technology), pre-translated into seventeen languages. To be precise, because the distinction is the whole point: those strings are dormant and Gardenia888 does not display either claim. What they show is that this lobby is a white-label build on a platform that also runs other casinos — the same dictionary carries a canned testimonial, “I only played RM50, but won big RM1200!”, in all seventeen languages, and a deposit-terms string whose Portuguese version silently converts RM30 into BRL30 for a different market.

Finally, the lobby’s own footer invites you to “Visit Official GARDENIA888 Blog” at gardenia888-my.com. That address returns HTTP 500.

Payments and bonuses: what is actually published

Third-party affiliate write-ups circulate several sets of numbers for this brand — minimum deposits of RM5, RM10 and RM30, wagering rates of 10×, 25× and 35×. Going back to source, most of that does not survive: the only figures we can attribute to a live Gardenia888 domain are these, all read on the cashier widget and header ticker of betgardenia888.com on 24 August 2026.

A contradiction between two operator pages is a finding. A contradiction between an operator page and an affiliate’s guess is not, so we have dropped the figures we could only source to the latter. What is left is quieter and firmer.

Look at the two numbers that do hold. You can put money in at RM5 but cannot take money out until you hold RM50 — ten times your minimum entry. Deposit floors get advertised in the banner; withdrawal floors are the ones that decide whether a small player ever sees a payout. On wagering there is a subtler problem than a bad rate. The page discusses rollover in general terms — “a bonus requiring 20x playthrough means you’ll need to bet 20 times the bonus amount before withdrawing” — but that 20× is a worked example in an explanatory paragraph. It is not attached to any Gardenia888 offer, and no rollover figure is published for the 70% welcome bonus anywhere we could read. An unpublished multiple is not a generous one; it is one you cannot price. If a 70% bonus on a RM100 deposit carried that illustrative 20×, you would owe RM1,400 of turnover on the bonus before withdrawing — fourteen times your own money, to unlock RM70. The page also states that “Gardenia888 operates with proper licensing” — and then, in the same sentence, advises readers to “verify the current license status on the official website”. It names no regulator, gives no number, and links to no register. The reader is told a licence exists and sent to check it somewhere the page does not identify.

Player complaints found

We searched Malaysian forums, Threads and complaint boards for Gardenia888 non-payment reports and found no verifiable individual case. We will not manufacture one. That absence is why this is a watchlist entry rather than a blacklist entry.

Third-party write-ups do consistently report two things: withdrawal delays during verification or peak periods, and support reachable only through live chat after registration. We record those as attributed reports, not as our findings. The second one is worth pausing on anyway. A brand that will not answer a payments question until you have handed over a phone number and created an account has inverted the order in which you should be doing your checks.

Under Malaysian law, online gambling is illegal for operators under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 and the Betting Act 1953. No Malaysian regulator licenses these sites, so there is no local body to complain to and no ombudsman to escalate to. That is the background condition for every brand we review here, and it is why our withdrawals and KYC glossary exists.

Verdict and rating rationale — 2/10

The score is 2 rather than 0 because nothing we found proves Gardenia888 has cheated a specific player, and we will not imply it from infrastructure findings. It is not higher because there is no version of this a careful reader should be relaxed about: no regulator named on either live site, a dead licensor’s seal on the most visible one, no owner identifiable anywhere, an unpriceable bonus, and a sign-up funnel that in twenty-five attempts went to somebody else’s casino every single time. We place Gardenia888 on the watchlist, consistent with CM2, Oyen333, Gempak99, SpinCity99, Emas44, JQK and MyTown33. One fairness point we want on the record. The worst behaviour we found — the rotating sign-up funnel — belongs to betgardenia888.com, and we cannot establish whether the people running the Gardenia888 lobby control that domain or even know it exists. The registrar and infrastructure evidence points away from it: the doorway sits on a NameCheap bulk registration and a shared Cloudflare account, while the lobby is on GoDaddy with its own CDN. The practical position for a Malaysian player is unchanged either way, which is the only reason it does not change the score: you cannot tell the two apart from a search result, and the brand publishes nothing that would let you.

Safer alternatives

The floor is simple: a brand that names its company, publishes a licence number you can look up, states terms you can read before registering — and whose sign-up button lands on the brand you clicked.

If you have already deposited and cannot withdraw

Treat it as a scam matter rather than a customer-service matter, and do these in order.

1. Check which brand actually holds your account first. If you registered through a Gardenia888 “official link” page, your account may be at JM8, 12Joker or 711kelab. The name on your cashier page is who you are chasing.
2. Screenshot everything now. Balance, withdrawal request, chat transcripts, the promotion page and its terms as they appear today. Four of the eleven domains we checked had already stopped responding; terms hosted on one can vanish without notice.
3. Call your bank’s fraud hotline, and the National Scam Response Centre on 997. We re-read the NFCC’s own NSRC page on 24 August 2026: 997 is answered 8.00am to 8.00pm daily, including public holidays. Your bank’s hotline runs 24 hours, and the NFCC page directs you there outside those times. The window to freeze a transfer is measured in hours.
4. Lodge a police report within 24 hours anyway. Calling 997 does not replace it. The NFCC’s own FAQ is explicit that without a police report, follow-up action cannot be carried out.
5. Check any payee account at Semak Mule before you ever transfer, and afterwards if you already have. PDRM’s database flags accounts previously reported for fraud.

Understand your legal position too. Under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 and the Betting Act 1953, online gambling is not legal for Malaysian players, and there is no local regulator to appeal to over a payout. That is exactly why an offshore licence you can verify on a public register is worth something, and a picture of a logo is worth nothing.
